ABOUT FCA

The FC Augsburg is a traditional club founded on August 8, 1907, originally under the name FC Alemannia and renamed BC Augsburg twelve years later. In 1969, BCA merged with another prominent Augsburg football club, TSV Schwaben Augsburg, and has since competed as FC Augsburg.

During its early years, FCA contributed notable football talents such as Uli Biesinger, a 1954 World Champion, and Helmut Haller but initially struggled to establish itself at a top level. After spending 23 years in amateur football, FCA achieved promotion to the second division in 2006 and celebrated its ascent to the Bundesliga in 2011.

Since then, FCA has been a consistent participant in Germany's top league. In the 2014/15 season, FCA reached its highest league placement to date and qualified for the Europa League. The club gained attention during matchups against teams like Athletic Bilbao, AZ Alkmaar, Partizan Belgrade, and Liverpool.
